Canton Dentist
Among the choices you have when it comes to replacing missing teeth, dentures remain a popular and effective option. They can be either partial, to restore a few teeth, or complete, restoring all of them on your upper or lower jaw. Either way, they can be made and fitted in a timely manner, and virtually anyone is a good candidate for them. At Stoughton Dentistry/Reddy, our
Canton dentist is pleased to provide dentures for you and give you back your full smile.
Dentures are removable. Where them when you need to, and take them out when you don't. For replacing less than a full set of teeth, many people find them more comfortable than a fixed bridge. When you have missing teeth, you probably feel self-conscious, especially if those teeth are ones that show when you smile. There are practical reasons to consider dentures, though. Your other teeth can shift, your jaws can become misaligned with each other, and your chewing may be less efficient. Obviously, if you have no teeth at all on your upper or lower plate, the drawbacks are even more significant. Our
Canton dentist will take impressions and send them to the dental lab to have your dentures fashioned. Partials contain clasps to connect to the teeth on either side, in addition to the adhesive you will use to hold them in. Complete dentures have no clasps. Both types are constructed of a plastic base with metal support. The base is colored to blend in with your gums. With just a little bit of practice, you'll get used to your new dentures and be able to chew food properly, speak, and laugh with confidence.
